The Piecrust
Café
Family style Thai food · since 1984
Four decades of the same recipes, the same wok, the same family. A neighbourhood Thai joint with all the hum and clatter of a Bangkok shophouse, plonked on Stratford High Street.

The story
Forty years on the High Street.
We opened in 1984, back when the only Thai food in East London was the bag of rice in our pantry. The neon out front has been fixed, the menu has grown a little, and Pad Kaprow is still saucy — just the way we like it.
Generations of Stratford families have eaten here. So have the cabbies, the market traders, the late-shift nurses. The kitchen doesn't move. The recipes don't move. That's kind of the point.
